Julie Jukes, HR Manager ‘We are extremely pleased that we have appointed 5 young people following our recent open days in a short period of time. We pride ourselves in succession planning and encourage employees who initially start their career in the factory to go on to develop their skills further within the factory or it has been the starting point before developing a career that has lead them into other directions in other areas of the company i.e. office roles such as material control, purchasing and some have even progressed into management positions’ The apprentices have now settled well in their teams and recently started their manufacturing qualification with Virtual College.
'we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Working Wonders for offering valuable support to our 5 young people from project challenge who successfully gained their apprenticeship with Crosslee. It has enabled them to transport themselves to work independently by the use of a bus pass and to purchase some essential PPE equipment.’
Lorna Butterick, Business Manager, Project challenge
We whole heartedly support apprentices. When we get an apprentice we feel we are getting someone who really want to learn our trade. We can teach them our way of working.
We were all young once and to have the support from the employer and guide these young people into a happy working future is very rewarding to our restaurant and us personally.
Working wonders has been brilliant, helping us to have the time to train our apprentice. as a small business with a small work force this is invaluable and has given us the chance to work on a one to one with our apprentice until confidence and skills have been gained, she is now able to work under her own steam. Without the grant from working wonders this wouldn't of been possible.
Thank you for your support.
‘The support from Working Wonders has allowed me to take on an apprentice where I would have otherwise been unable to.
It has given an opportunity to an enterprising young lady who had found it challenging to enter the care sector without the relevant qualifications and experience.
I am delighted with the help and advice from WW and would recommend them to any business looking to grow its workforce.
This apprenticeship has worked for me. Thank you!’
Amber is employed as Business & Admin apprentice at Together Housing.
She is based at the Learning and Development centre at Holmfield.
Amber was enthusiastic right from the start at her interview. She expressed how she felt it was important to start in a company, work her way up and how an apprenticeship was ideal for this. As an apprentice, she remains enthusiastic and hard working. Amber has shown that having a young child and working full time is possible, and she’s made it happen
